Our Services

At present, there are more than 170 000 visually impaired persons in Hong Kong. However, facilities and ancillary arrangements in the community still pose a lot of barriers, causing inconvenience to the visually impaired and other disabled persons, and thus leaving much room for improvement. The social enterprises under Blind Union, responding to the government target of developing accessible facilities and services to lead all sectors of the society to jointly build an accommodating community, have been making every effort to promote accessible facilities in a bid to avail to the visually impaired the information and services available to sighted persons, and, at the same time, provide the visually impaired with employment opportunities.

GATE

The social enterprise under the Hong Kong Blind Union - GATE, provides one-stop consultation and support services for all sectors in the aspects of digital technology, facilities, and products. G.A.T.E. stands for Good Accessibility To Everyone, with the vision to achieve "Accessible to all‧Barrier-free life". Apart from rendering professional accessibility assessment, consultation and training service on web and mobile applications, we also provide accessible products for venue facilities, and accessible products.
